Transitional 

Transitional is a popular design style because it uses a combination of traditional and modern designs to create a balanced look.  The use of modern materials & plush furnishings is what creates this unique style.  The use of neutral colors creates a calm and relaxed space that feels not only stylish and sleek but also warm.

Dimensions

Make sure that the size of the furniture fits well with the size of your room.  You wouldn't want a large dining room table in a small room or a small dining room table in a large room.  Everything should fit appropriate to the space.  A good rule of thumb when searching for a dining room table is make sure you have about 3-4 feet comfortably on each side of the table.  You also want to consider the sizes of other furniture that you will fit in the same room together so it doesn't look overcrowded.
