Fine Jewelry vs Fashion Jewelry

What is the difference between Fine Jewelry and Fashion Jewelry?

The Materials used and longevity is the main difference.

Fine Jewelry is made from Solid Gold, Sterling Silver, Platinum, or other precious metals.  Precious gemstones such as Natural Diamonds, Emeralds, Rubies, and Sapphires are used.  Given that Fine Jewelry is properly cared for, it will not tarnish and last longer than your lifetime to even be passed down for generations as a family heirloom.  Please see our Fine Jewelry Care page to learn how to properly care for your fine jewelry.  Fine Jewelry will have a higher price point, however when considering the value and longevity it's worth the investment.  Fine Jewelry is made to last and can be worn everyday.

Fashion Jewelry on the other hand is usually made from base metals and simulated stones.  Fashion Jewelry is made of brass, copper, or aluminum and then can be plated with Silver or Gold.  Cubic Zirconia and Swarovski crystals are common within Fashion Jewelry.   The price for fashion jewelry is also much less than fine jewelry.

When comparing the two Fine Jewelry is the better choice.  It will last you a lifetime and generations to come.   Fashion Jewelry is made as a cheaper alternative however it does tarnish and break easily with no long term value.
